Public chat, private messages, team chat and voice chat.

This reaches exactly the people who should read your message.

Every message in public chat looks like this: [Rank] PlayerName » Message. The rank comes first so you can see who you are talking to.

Writing to one person

Type /msg followed by the player's name.
Write your message on the same line and send it.
Reply with /r, then you do not have to type the name again.

/msg <Name> <Text>: Sends a private message to one player.
/r <Text>: Replies to the player who wrote to you last.
/msgtoggle: Turns private messages on and off for you.
/team chat <Text>: Writes to your own team only.
/tptoggle: Turns teleport requests on and off.
/paytoggle: Turns payments from other players on and off.

Death messages

When someone dies, the whole server does not read about it. Only three sides see the message: the attacker, the player who died and their team.

Voice chat

You can talk to players near you. For that you need the Simple Voice Chat mod. Normally you carry 48 blocks, whispering 24 blocks. Groups are allowed.

On phone and console

There is no voice chat on phone and console. All commands work the same way though: open chat, type the command, send.

A mute applies everywhere. It blocks public chat, private messages and the mail as well.

What often goes wrong

Your private message does not arrive.

The other player turned private messages off, or you mistyped the name. Have the name spelled out for you.

You keep getting teleport requests while building.

Turn them off for a while. Remember to turn them back on afterwards, otherwise nobody can reach you.

Nobody hears you in voice chat.

Check that the mod is running and that you are in range. Beyond 48 blocks nobody hears you.
